Generative AI Policy

African Scientific Reports does not permit the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) to write, generate, paraphrase, or substantially revise any part of a manuscript submitted to the journal.

This prohibition applies to the title, abstract, main text, discussion, conclusion, references, cover letter, and response to reviewers. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must represent the original intellectual and written work of the authors.

Authors must declare any use of AI-assisted tools at submission. However, any use of GenAI for manuscript writing is considered unacceptable and may lead to rejection, withdrawal, or retraction where applicable.

GenAI tools cannot be listed as authors, as they cannot take responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, originality, or ethical soundness of the work.

Reviewers and editors must not upload manuscripts or confidential journal materials into public or unsecured AI platforms.

African Scientific Reports maintains a zero-tolerance position on AI-written manuscripts in order to protect scholarly originality, transparency, and research integrity.
